  • Brand Copywriter & Strategist

    The Blue Heron marketing department is looking for an experienced copywriter to fill the role of Brand Copywriter & Strategist. The right candidate for this position will have a strong portfolio of writing experience, primarily focused on brand messaging development.

    Day-to-day work may vary, but the Brand Copywriter & Strategist will focus the bulk of their work around brand messaging, marketing campaigns, corporate comms, and sales enablement – including:

    • Deep understanding of our target market and the Blue Heron brand to craft compelling copy.
    • Owning the Blue Heron brand voice alongside the Marketing Director and Brand & Communications Manager.
    • Working with the team to continually develop the Blue Heron style and voice guides.
    • Understanding and evolving how the brand sounds in various applications, like real estate listings and client communications.
    • Collaborating with the marketing team to strategize, develop, and execute marketing copy for:
      • BlueHeron.com and SEO (landing page copy).
      • The Blue Heron blog.
      • Social media channels.
      • Email marketing.
      • Paid advertising (SEM, social, etc.).
      • Billboards.
      • Direct mail.
      • Video storyboarding/scripting.
    • Partnering with graphic designers to develop visually compelling materials.
    • Taking ownership of internal communications.
    • Supporting press releases and additional PR materials.
    • Working with the marketing team to develop sales enablement materials such as real estate listings, flyers, email, etc.

    The Brand Copywriter & Strategist must meet the following minimum qualifications:

    • Powerful attention to detail.
    • 3-5 years of proven copywriting experience, including branding, creative copy, long form, and short form.
    • Strong at writing sales-initiating materials.
    • Able to adapt to brand standards (multiple at a time) and write on behalf of an organization or its individuals.
    • Deadline-oriented with solid organizational skills that enable quick turnaround times.
    • Flexible professional with a can-do attitude.
    • Technical capabilities allowing the candidate to see copywriting end-to-end in CRM and other software.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

    The following qualifications are not required, but are a plus:

    • CRM and CMS experience.
    • Familiarity with the AP Stylebook.
    • Writing for social media channels.
    • Advertising copywriting familiarity.
    • Real estate writing knowledge.
    • WordPress experience.

  • Project Coordinator, BH Furnishings

    Project Coordinator, BH Furnishings main responsibility is assisting with the coordination of the overall administration deliverables, and reporting for the home furnishings design program.  Assist with the coordination of the overall process of the project delivery from the initial Furnishings Design Contract through the turnover and delivery of the completed home furnishings project. 

    The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Project Managers and Interior Designers to ensure everyone has what they need to deliver the project design in the most efficient manner and that everyone is kept updated on status of deliverables and timelines.

    Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate with team through project design development aligned with scope, cost, design hours forecasting and schedules.
    • Responsible for regular communications with Client on project status, issues and accounting related tasks and information.
    • Ensure accurate tracking of invoicing, PO’s, lead times, budget, cost, design hours forecast and schedule.  Working with the Project Interior Designer for the tracking of the project design hours and schedule, with the use of the work plan/task list.
    • Ensure all project documentation, contracts, invoices, etc. are established and maintained.
    • Track and report client leads and referrals.
    • Onboard all new clients and new vendors into Design Manager Software Program.
    • Work closely with internal team and client to successfully deliver Furnishing’s design projects with Clients happy about their product, cost, and schedule outcomes.
    • Coordinating with all departments making up the project team, during the respective phase of the project.  Following up with the team to ensure that all deliverables are being completed in accordance with the project schedule.
    • Meeting or exceeding internal and external client expectations. 
    • Coordination with construction on scheduling site visits and the status of turnover schedule.
    Essential Qualifications:
    • Proven experience in Project Administration.
    • Background in working with project teams from the start of the design phase through the completion of installation.
    • Degree in business and/or management related field is preferred.
    • Experience with project financial reporting, risk management, and coordination of design, delivery/install schedules.
    • Superior analytical and organizational skills.
    • Drive to achieve and produce results on time.
    • Be proficient in the use of MS Office software, etc. Should understand the fundamentals of Excel and accounting reports, Procore and Bluebeam.

  • Interior Design Assistant, BH Elite

    The IDA will assist the Interior Designers in all aspects of projects, including development of presentations for design concepts that satisfy the client’s aesthetic preferences, specifying finishes and materials based on the client’s budgetary requirements, adhering to project timelines, interior modeling in SketchUp, and overall documentation of the project.

    The IDA is also responsible for assisting Interior Designers in related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including: Sales, Project Management, Project Delivery, Project Administration, Production, Architecture, Vision, Construction, and Estimating to help ensure the efficient production and delivery of respective work products.  

    The IDA role will work in concert with and assist the Interior Design Manager with progressing the department in its continual pursuit of quality and delivery of timely services to its clients and other Blue Heron departments.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes, and Methodologies.
    • Assist in all tasks related to the creation of aesthetically pleasing interior spaces, including space planning, overall color palette, material and finish selections, specifications, and the coordination of architectural elements within interior spaces.
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of all documentation related to the design process, such as interior elevations, floor plans, finish schedules, specifications appendices, and technical SketchUp modeling.
    • Routine and consistent use of project/time management, production and design software including Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Procore supporting Blue Heron company mission and goals.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize project workload, and time sensitive tasks.
    • Attend weekly meetings to ensure coordination with all relevant Blue Heron departments while maintaining project production schedules.
    • Incorporate all the Blue Heron interior design standards and support best practices development and documentation.
    • Take initiative and seek out mentors to further career development.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or related field.

  • Interior Designer, BH Elite

    The Interior Designer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the interior design process, including client relationship management, the creation of a comprehensive interior design concept, and coordinating the intended design vision between the Architecture (PDM) and Vision Teams.  The Interior Designer will manage all aspects of the client relationship, including the assessment of client needs and wants, presenting design concepts that satisfy the client’s aesthetic preferences, specifying finishes and materials based on the client’s budgetary requirements, and adhering to project timelines. 

    The Interior Designer is also responsible for assisting related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including Sales, Project Management, Project Delivery, Project Administration, Production, Furnishings, Construction, Estimating, and Accounting to help ensure the efficient production and delivery of respective work products. Provide comprehensive design and specification services to our Blue Heron clients for selection and procurement of Fixtures and Equipment for custom products.

    The ID role will work in concert with and assist the Interior Design Manager with progressing the department in its continual pursuit of quality and delivery of timely services to its clients and other Blue Heron departments.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes and Methodologies.
    • Oversee material and finish specifications, overall color palette, and the coordination of architectural elements with interior spaces.
    • Effectively aligns vision/design to brand
    • Actively and effectively utilizes tools to design to budget and increase efficiency of design workflow
    • Maintain all documentation related to the design process, including client approved selection sheets, interior elevation drawings, floor plans, finish schedules/appendices, and ensure that the design vision is accurately implemented in the field through consistent communication with the construction team and regular field visits.
    • Foster and continually develop vendor and trade relations seeking effective and efficient pricing for products that will be incorporated into Blue Heron custom products.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize project workload and time sensitive tasks.
    • Advanced Knowledge of software including: Sketch Up, Bluebeam, Procore and Microsoft Office.
    • Effectively oversee client billable hours and log hours daily into Paylocity.
    • Comfortably handle multiple projects at different stages of development and management.
    • Confidently manage the client experience and expectations by overcoming objectives, providing next steps, and clear communication.
    • Coordinate with Production and incorporate all the Blue Heron interior design standards, details, keynotes, updates and actively contribute to the development and documentation of Interior Design best practices.
    • Take initiative and have a proven record of seeking out mentors to further career development.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or related field preferred.
    • Actively working toward NCIDQ accreditation.
    • Requires 5+ years of related experience.
    • Requires occasional direction in several aspects of the work.
