In 2015, the National Association of Home Builders selected Blue Heron to design and build The New American Home® for the third time, following the company’s nationally recognized Homes in 2009 and 2013. Unlike a traditional showcase residence, the 2015 Home was conceived as a repeatable community floor plan, demonstrating that exceptional architecture, sustainability, and livability could extend beyond a single custom Home.

Located in Henderson, Nevada, the desert contemporary design embraced its surroundings through a side-loaded courtyard entry, expansive walls of glass, and a rooftop sky deck that captured sweeping views of the Las Vegas Valley. Natural materials and clean architectural lines flowed seamlessly from interior to exterior, dissolving the boundaries between the Home and the desert landscape.

Designed to achieve net-zero energy performance, the Home integrated solar power, passive solar strategies, and a high-performance building envelope. Its innovative approach earned LEED Platinum certification and the highest Emerald certification under the National Green Building Standard, setting a new benchmark for sustainable luxury living.
