Exclusive 34-homesite enclave marks the first step in Blue Heron’s national expansion

Blue Heron, the nationally recognized design-build firm known for redefining modern desert living, today announced its expansion into Southern Utah with Vela at Solenté, an exclusive collection of just 34 homesites within Clyde Companies’ new master-planned community in Washington, Utah.

Vela marks Blue Heron’s first residential offering in the region and the first step in the company’s national expansion. As Blue Heron enters new markets, it will carry forward the principles that define the brand while allowing each region’s landscape, culture and lifestyle to shape a distinct expression of Blue Heron.

Conceived specifically for this setting, Vela responds to the dramatic landscape and connection to the outdoors, influencing everything from the architecture and indoor-outdoor relationships to the features and experiences within the Homes.

“National expansion for Blue Heron is not about repeating one idea across markets. It’s about understanding what makes each place extraordinary and evolving the Blue Heron experience around it. Southern Utah gives us an incredible opportunity to create something authentic to the region while remaining unmistakably Blue Heron.”

Kevin Adams, CEO of Blue Heron.

That regional approach extends to understanding the people choosing to make this area of Utah part of their lives. Vela is expected to appeal to established Utah homeowners, including empty nesters along the Wasatch Front seeking a Southern Utah residence, affluent lifestyle relocators drawn to the region and existing Blue Heron homeowners looking for a new expression of the brand.

While their motivations differ, these buyers share an appreciation for thoughtful design, quality, wellness, nature and highly personalized living. Vela’s new home collection is being shaped around those priorities, with expansive indoor-outdoor connections, options for integrated wellness features and spaces designed to welcome family and guests. For some, Vela will offer the ease of a lock-and-leave residence. For others, it will become a place where children, grandchildren and extended family can come together from across the state and beyond, creating a retreat for time together, traditions and lasting connection.

“Our work has always been rooted in the relationship between people, architecture and place,” said Gonzalo Romero, Chief Design Officer at Blue Heron. “This landscape gives us an entirely new natural vocabulary to respond to. The light, topography, red-rock formations and connection to the outdoors are informing how these Homes take shape. Vela isn’t a translation of Las Vegas architecture into Utah. It is architecture created specifically for Solenté through the lens of Blue Heron.”

Construction is underway on Altair, Blue Heron’s first Utah show home. Planned for completion in time for the 2027 Southern Utah Parade of Homes, Altair will offer the region its first opportunity to experience Blue Heron architecture firsthand.

Vela will offer just 34 homesites within a private, double-gated enclave at Solenté, a 570-acre master-planned community in Washington, Utah, minutes from St. George. Surrounded by red cliffs and expansive desert landscape, Solenté is planned for approximately 2,200 residences with trails, recreation, future commercial offerings and integrated amenities, including the private La Parea Club, a social, recreation and wellness destination planned for approximately 250 members.

The Vela priority interest list is now forming, with additional details on home designs, pricing, homesite availability and reservations coming this fall.
