And because our interior designers are part of the process from the very beginning, interior design is fully integrated with the architectural design.

Meet the Team
As an owner, Tyler is responsible for creative design development, forward planning and operations at Blue Heron. A fourth generation Nevadan, Jones has worked in the construction industry with his father since he was young and began his design career working for architects while still in high school. Later, he moved to Boulder, Colorado to study Architecture at the University of Colorado. With a passion for green building and cutting edge contemporary design, Jones incorporates both in every home. As a result, Blue Heron has been recognized with over 30 prestigious awards. In addition, Blue Heron was selected by the National Association of Homebuilders to serve as the architect, interior design and builder of the 30th Anniversary New American showcased at the International Builders Show January 2013 and selected again for all three categories for the 2015 New American Home.
As an owner, Steve oversees the construction and quality control at Blue Heron. Born in 1949 in Las Vegas, Steve had the unique opportunity to grow up with the city and has been building custom homes in the Valley for more than 30 years. Throughout his career, Steve Jones has developed a reputation for integrity, honesty and an unprecedented level of quality. He has instilled those same values into the entire Design / Build team at Blue Heron. In addition to his responsibilities at Blue Heron, Steve has owned and operated Merlin Contracting since 1989. Under his direction, Merlin Contracting has developed many of Las Vegas’ finest estate properties and has won dozens of awards. After attending college at the University of Nevada, Reno, Steve finished his studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Denis brings over 25 years of experience in the design build business. He has successfully managed design build projects up to $20M and served as Director of Operations for a Fortune 500 engineering construction firm. Denis is a Professional Engineer, LEED accredited, and holds a masters in management. Denis' unique background and experience enables him to provide leadership and vision to the Blue Heron team, enabling them to successfully deliver the homes our clients dream about. With a focus on quality and service, Denis supports the talent of Blue Heron through continuous improvement of our valuable team members, our tools and our processes to ensure our customers will enjoy their Blue Heron experience for the rest of the lives.
Director of Sales and Marketing
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Shelly brings over 25 years of experience in the Real Estate and homebuilding industry to Blue Heron, with 10 of those years in executive level positions. In this role, Shelly directs all Sales and Marketing aspects of the business, with an unwavering dedication to client satisfaction. She has built a reputation in the industry of integrity and trust and has a sincere desire to help people make smart real estate decisions. In addition, Shelly actively engages along with Blue Heron senior leadership in the development and review of operational processes and systems to both complement and enhance the organization.
Director of Architecture
As Director of Architecture, David is responsible for the leadership of Blue Heron’s unique brand of architecture, development, interior design and community planning teams. Hailing from Florida, he brings an extensive background in the practice of architecture and construction and has held senior positions with luxury home design-builders, regional and national award-winning architectural firms and is a strong advocate of the Blue Heron design philosophy and its design led design-build methodology. In addition to high-end residential projects, David has also led design team efforts in a variety of project types including multifamily residential, recreational, higher education, national corporate and commercial. He received his Bachelor of Design, and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Florida, is a registered architect, a certified general contractor, and holds certification from the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB).
Director of Construction
As Director of Construction, Dan is a 3rd generation builder who brings over 29 years of building experience from luxury homebuilding, luxury resorts in Hawaii, State Public Works projects and high-rise buildings. He has successfully managed large scale projects throughout the country while maintaining schedule, safety, budget and client satisfaction. In this role, Dan is responsible for all construction and warranty services for our customers with a commitment to quality construction and on time delivery. He works directly with our clients during the construction process to help Blue Heron deliver them the beautiful home of their dreams. In addition, Dan actively engages along with Blue Heron senior leadership in the development and review of operational processes and systems to both complement and enhance the organization.
